Overview

Skibbereen RFC underage structure carries on from the Mini section when the children finish at U12 level and then proceed to the first underage level which is at U13. The changeover is seamless and but for a possible change in Coaching staff  things generally remain more or less the same.Training continues as normal with the U13's on a Saturday morning and an additional training on an evening - presently Wednesday from 6.30 - 7.30pm. The older age groups train on an evening setting with different days for the various age groups - see below.

The Underage structure for the 2009/2010 season are designated as U13; U15; U17; U19, but the sections that are of specific interest to us are the U13, U15, and U17. For the most part the U19 level will be a post Leaving Certificate level and many will have finished second level and have left for College or work – however if sufficient numbers are available for competition they will be catered for in the normal way. Competitions run under the banner of the Munster Branch at underage are usually determined by the number of teams presenting and can vary from a blitz format at U13 to a standard League and Cup format which is usually played on a Saturday morning for the older groups. It is difficult to predict at this stage (July) what will happen in September so please check back from time to time and once definitive information is to hand it will be posted on this website.

The Mini and Underage Subscriptions for the 2011/2012season is again €30.00 and €40.00 respectively, but do please take note of the Family Membership option for the coming season where all children up to and including U19 qualifiers and their parents/spouses are included for €150.00.

2011 Flag day

Skibbereen underage rugby flag day.

The club held its annual flag day in town on Saturday, 24th September, a big thanks to all who contributed, and a special thanks to the club volunteers who, at short notice, supervised at the 6 collection points in town.

The scheduled  underage training schedule for the current season is:

U13: Saturday Mornings 10.00 - 11.30am and Wednesday 6.30 - 7.30pm        

U15: Monday and Thursdays - 6.30 - 7.30pm       

U17:Tuesdays and Thursday 6.30pm — 7.30pm
